<p>Featured this month as a columnist for BtoB magazine.</p>
<p>Direct marketers have been asking themselves about the impact of the Google Panda update, undertaken in February by the search engine giant to filter out low-quality, duplicated or not-very-useful pages from its search query results.</p>
<p>In making these changes to its search algorithm, Google has pinpointed “content farm” sites such as the how-to site eHow and the Q&amp;A site Answerbag, as well as sites that feature a disproportionate amount of advertising instead of informative text.</p>

<li><strong>Content Marketing Awards deadline in two weeks</strong>. The <a href="http://www.magnumopusawards.com/">Magnum Opus awards</a> (which I like to call the <em>content marketing</em> awards) are approaching their deadline on March 18th.  Be sure to get your content projects in ASAP.</li>
<li><strong>Content Marketing comes to South by Southwest</strong>.  NPR host Tom Ashbrook will moderate <a href="http://schedule.sxsw.com/events/event_IAP6685">this panel</a> on how brands are becoming publishers.</li>
